It
is important that you understand the value of developing
good technique. In the beginning when you are learning
and playing fairly basic music one can get by without
good technique. But, as you move into more challenging
music the value of good technique becomes apparent.
Correct
posture in the left hand, good fingering choices,
alternating fingers in the right hand, economy of
motion, etc., becomes the deciding factor in your
success when trying to play Teen Town, or Menuetto
I by Bach, or Tranešs Giant Steps solo.
Are
you willing to take the time and build a technique
today that will allow you to execute the music you
choose to play in the future?
