PRACTICE TECHNIQUE #6
 

Record yourself practicing for twenty minutes. I am not talking about a performance of a prepared piece. I mean push play, and do not stop the recorder for twenty minutes. If, when you listen back, there is a lot of silence, perhaps you need to become better prepared and organized. If you hear noodling, kick the habit. If you hear music that you know well, MOVE ON to some new and challenging material! Record a short practice session every thirty days. It will give you a new perspective on you.
